Conner Hampton (Director of Development)

Conner Hampton is Center City Academy’s next Director of Development. He comes to Center City Academy after serving as a relationship manager at the United Way of the Plains. He has achieved many accomplishments throughout his career, including projects that raise awareness and funds to support Wichita’s communities, multi-million dollars raised through fundraising initiatives, and special projects through the United Way, like Coaching for Literacy and Flags for Freedom.

Conner believes in the mission of Center City Academy to provide affordable, high-quality child care for people living and working in Wichita’s urban core.

Q: What drew you to apply for this position?
A: The opportunity of providing a service to children and families in Wichita. Giving people a chance to achieve their greatest potential is my passion. Being a parent of a two-year-old, I know the challenges of affordability and availability in early childhood education. I am mission driven and committed to helping Wichita thrive. COMMITTED TO THE CORE!

Q: What are you most excited about as you begin this new chapter with Center City Academy?
A: Spreading the word about Center City Academy and watching this community rally around us, as we work to provide a space for a holistic educational experience.

Q: What value do you hope the community sees in this project?
A: That Center City Academy is an investment in Wichita’s future. We will help children receive the education they deserve. Parents will be able to afford daycare and achieve their goals. Employers and businesses will benefit from Center City Academy not only now but in the future.

Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Playing basketball, Chiefs football, spending time with family, fixer upper home projects

Q: What are your favorite restaurant in downtown Wichita?
A: Homegrown, Doo Dah Diner and Knolla’s Pizza

Q: What are your favorite downtown Wichita activities or events?
A: Running and walking along the River or Riverfest
